Kalispell Real Estate

Kalispell is the largest city in Northwest Montana. It was founded in 1891 by Charles Conrad who had been a very successful business man in the Fort Benton area establishing a business with his brother that brought goods up the Missouri River from all over the world. Mr. Conrad and his wife fell in love with the Flathead Valley and made arrangements for the railroad to come through the area north of Flathead Lake. They named the city Kalispell which is a Salish Indian word meaning “flat land above the lake”. Mr. Conrad opened the Kalispell Township Company and the Conrad Bank and started construction on an enormous 26 room mansion which is available for tours today.

Kalispell serves as the county seat for Flathead Valley and is considered the Hub of the Valley. Home to nearly 20,000 residents, Kalispell offers something for everyone with an abundance of recreational activities!

Kalispell is home to The Hockaday Museum of Art, Conrad Mansion, Central School Museum, Logan Health, Flathead Valley Community College, and Buffalo Hill Golf Club with Blacktail Ski area, Whitefish Mountain Resort, Hungry Horse Dam, Glacier National Park and more all within a short drive.
